Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend hiring a designer as early as possible! This allows for us to be involved in the planning phases and to collaborate with the architect and builder to ensure for a cohesive project from the start. However, we know this isn’t always possible, so we recommend a good minimum time frame is 6 months before you want to break ground.

Overall, the designer-builder relationship is a collaborative one! We work alongside builders to bring your vision to life. We provide detailed drawings, specifications, and material selections to guide the construction process. We also help to problem solve any design-related issues that may arise during the building process.
-
Absolutely! We love working with trades that you trust. We will work early on to communicate with your trades to learn how we will best work together. If you do not have a builder or architect we are happy to recommend our trusted partners.

At Heartland Revel we practice a hybrid model of billing. The design phase of any project is a flat fee. Our clients like knowing how much our fees are up front. This fee is based on how long it will take us to develop your customized design plan. Many factors go into how much of an investment this initial design fee is. We consider the scope of the project, travel time, meetings, showroom visits, revisions, etc.
When we get to the construction phase of your project we use an hourly fee. This is done due to all of the unknowns that can happen during the construction process.
